LT-3 is a next-generation chemical matting agent for epoxy/polyester hybrid powder
coatings. Used with standard interior polyesters (no special low-temp polyester
required), it enables 160 °C/10 min or 160 °C/15 min curing with competitive cost
performance.
Key features:
- Low-temperature cure: achieves 160 °C/10 min curing.
- Target gloss: 20–35 GU (60°).
- Simple to use: works with regular interior polyesters.
- Cost-effective: recommended LT-3 : epoxy ratio ≈ 1 : 1–1.2.
- Anti-yellowing: excellent resistance to yellowing.
- Balanced performance: good mechanical properties and leveling.
Reference Formulations (parts by weight):

*Impact (±) indicates direct and reverse impact.
Note:
Tested polyesters include: Zhejiang Tiansong 5375; Anhui Shenjian SJ3B/SJ5A;
Guangzhou Kinte HH2583; etc.
- Formulation note: LT-3 : epoxy ≈ 1 : 1–1.2.
- The formulations above are for reference only; due to resin-to-resin variability,
performance may differ and should be verified by your own trials. - Avoid accelerators or catalytic pigments/fillers; they typically raise gloss and may impair leveling.
Typical Properties:
- Appearance: white to light-yellow fine powder
- Volatiles: < 1 wt% (160 °C/15 min)
- Softening point (R&B): 105–130 °C
- Equivalent weight: ~ 750
Application:
- Pre-mix and Co-extrusion [One-Shot Method]
Storage:
- Store dry at ≤27 °C. Shelf life: 12 months.
- expired products can be used after passing inspection.
Safety and Caution:
- General safety precautions for powder coatings apply to ZEHM additives.
- Unless otherwise specified, heavy metals in ZEHM products comply with relevant
safety limits. - Use appropriate PPE to avoid skin contact, ingestion, or inhalation during handling.
Note:
Although LT-3 can deliver excellent results, application conditions vary. Always conduct pilot trials under actual line conditions before scaling up. ZEHM assumes no liability for
any loss arising from reliance on or improper use of this document and does not exclude the possibility that alternative application methods may deliver superior results.
