MatteX-3A Matting Agent for Polyester/Epoxy Powder Coatings

MatteX-3A is an improved product based on MatteX-3. 

It has excellent matting effect, good storage stability, impact resistance, etc. in the polyester/epoxy hybrid powder coating system.

It is specially used to prepare gloss 10GU.

MatteX-3A has the following characteristics

• Derived from MatteX-3, with the universaladvantages of MatteX-3
• Only suitable for gloss systems greater than 10GU@60°
• Less sensitive to oven temperature than that of MatteX-3
• Impact strength is more reliable when formulating semi-gloss products

Recommended powder coating formula based on MatteX-3A:

• At present, most polyester resins in China are suitable for this formula.
  Recommended slow curing polyesters, such as DSM P4055 / P5127 / P6060,
  Zhejiang Tiansong 6700, KHUA 1162 / 1164, Anhui Shenjian 5#A, Maple 1067,
  etc.
• This matting agent consumes epoxy, and the approximate ratio is 1:1.4; the gloss
  can be adjusted by adjusting the amount of matting agent and epoxy consumption
• In different formulas, the best mechanical properties can be obtained by
  appropriately adjusting the amount of epoxy
• Please adjust the pigment and filler content according to the actual situation;
  increasing the filler content is beneficial to matting; it is best to choose matting
  fillers
• The above formula is for reference only. Each performance may vary according to
  the performance of the resin. Please refer to the test data
• Avoid accelerators or catalytic pigments/fillers; they typically raise gloss and may
  impair leveling.

• Appearance: White or light yellow powder
• Epoxy equivalent weight: about 600

Application:

•  Pre-mix and Co-extrusion

Storage:

• 12months @27°C, Keep Dry

• General powder coating safety regulations can be adapted for ZEHM products
• Unless otherwise noted, ZEHM products never contain any heavy metal elements,
  easy-flammable or explosive materials.
• Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] are required to prevent the powder from oral or breath adsorption and skin direct contact

Despite MatteX-3A can make noticeable effects for your formulation, batch powder
line trial for the powder user is strongly recommended. ZEHM will not be responsible
