MaxMatt-8 is an economical chemical matting agent based on carboxyl acrylic resin. It has
excellent matting effect, good storage stability, good impact resistance, high surface
hardness and scratch resistance.
MaxMatt-8 has the following characteristics in polyester/epoxy hybrid powder coating
system.
- Excellent matting performance: minimum gloss 3GU@60°
- Matting principle: chemical matting type, matting agent/epoxy (equivalent 833) = 1:2.5
- Appearance: flat and smooth, high fullness, high blackness, stain resistance, and
excellent color stability - Storage stability: the gel time is 2’00”-3’00”, and storage stability of the finished powder is very good
- Impact resistance: ±50KG.cm, excellent delayed impact performance
- Anti-scratch performance: high cross-linking density, higher hardness and scratch
resistance than traditional chemical matting agents - Economical: The formula contains more polyester, which has obvious cost advantages when the price of polyester is low; compared with the high melting point X68 type, MaxMatt-8 contains a large amount of resin and can carry more pigments and fillers without Affect the appearance
- Adjustable gloss: By adjusting the amount of matting agent and corresponding epoxy consumption, the gloss can be adjusted without changing the performance
- Excellent mechanical properties, excellent adhesion, low selectivity to polyester resin
- Good re-extrusion performance, easy to reuse expired powder or waste powder
- Low selectivity for polyester resin, especially suitable for 6:4 polyester matting formulation
- Anti-interference: Very little sensitivity to oven temperature, can be baked in batch ovens and cold ovens; little interference from X68 matting agents; little pollution to high-gloss powder in the same baking tunnel
Recommended powder coating formula based on MaxMatt-8:

- In different formulas, the best mechanical properties can be obtained by appropriately adjusting the amount of epoxy
- Recommended slow curing polyesters, such as DSM P4055 / P5127 / P6060,
Zhejiang Tiansong 6700, KHUA 1162 / 1164, Anhui Shenjian 5#A, Maple 1067,
etc. - Please adjust the pigment and filler content according to the actual situation.
Increasing the filler content is beneficial to matting. It is recommended to choose
matting fillers - The above formula is for reference only. Various properties vary according to the
properties of the resin. Please refer to the test data - Avoid accelerators or catalytic pigments/fillers; they typically raise gloss and may
impair leveling.
Typical Properties:
- Appearance: White or light yellow powder
- Epoxy equivalent weight: ≈ 330
Application:
- Pre-mix and Co-extrusion [One-Shot Method]
Storage:
- 12months @27°C, Keep Dry
Safety and Caution:
- General powder coating safety regulations can be adapted for ZEHM products
- Unless otherwise noted, ZEHM products never contain any heavy metal elements,
easy-flammable or explosive materials. - Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] are required to prevent the powder from oral
or breath adsorption and skin direct contact - Any contaminated body parts should be suggested to the above formula is for reference only. The performance may be varied by resin types. Please refer to
experimental data
