Mild-Matte A-1 Polyester/TGIC Powder Coating Matting Agent

Mild-Matte A-1 is an effective matting agent designed for polyester/TGIC powder
coatings with PU-like surface. It has the following characteristics

• Lower gloss ： Lowest gloss of 6-10GU @60° (Dosage: 7-7.5% in total)
• Surface: PU-like delicate surface, good leveling, and PU hand-feeling
• Durability：good UV resistance and good weather resistance
• Good Mechanical Properties: (+/-) 50KG*cm impact (GB/T1732-93)
• Color stability: excellent yellowing resistance after baking
• Matting stability: stable gloss, insensitive to extrusion process, good reproducibility
• Other ： Slow-curing polyester should be used instead of fast-curing polyester alone, but fast-curing polyester can be used in conjunction with slow-curing polyester. The curing temperature needs to be guaranteed in order to obtain good
  mechanical properties and matting properties

Recommended powder coating formula based on Mild-Matte A-1:

• Above formulas were illustrated only for reference
• Please do trial first before batch order
• Recommended polyester: DSM P4900/P4600, Shen-jian 4ET, Etiansong 2701, KHUA GH2221, Maple FL-2018, Guangzhou Kinte NH-3309, etc
• In actual use, it is found that slow curing polyester is beneficial to matting performance
• Please adjust the content of pigment and filler according to the actual situation
• Mild-Matte A-1:TGIC=9:1
• Take Formulation #1 for example：
  • Polyester : TGIC=93:7=550:X, X=41.40
  • Mild-Matte A-1:TGIC=9:1=75:Y, Y=8.33
  • X+Y=41.40+8.33=49.73≈49.5
• Avoid accelerators or catalytic pigments/fillers; they typically raise gloss and may impair leveling.

Typical Properties:

• Appearance：White or light yellow powder
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) ： ≤3.0% （ wt.% ） Thermal Gravimetric Analysis at 200°C/20min.
• Softening point, RING AND BALL ：100-130°C

Application:

• Pre-mix and Co-extrusion [One-Shot Method]
  

Storage:

• 12 months @27°C, Keep Dry
  

Safety and Caution：

• General powder coating safety regulations can be adapted for ZEHM products
• Unless otherwise noted, ZEHM products never contain any heavy metal elements, easy-flammable or explosive materials
• Personal Protective Equipments [PPE] are required to prevent the powder from oral or breath adsorption and skin direct contact
• Any contaminated body parts should be suggested to a rapid wash-away. Serious
  cases should look for the doctor’s treatment
