Mild-Matte A9 is an effective matting agent designed for polyester/TGIC powder
coatings and has the following characteristics
- Matting performance: minimum 12GU@60° gloss can be obtained
- Process: pre-mixed and extruded with other raw materials, one shot method, no
requirement of dry blending - Film surface quality: fine surface, flat and smooth; much better appearance than that
of dry blend method - Mechanical properties: pass reverse 50KG*cm of impact strength
- Color stability: excellent yellowing resistance after baking
- Matting stability: stable gloss, less sensitive temperature, not sensitive to the extrusion process, lower selectivity for polyester, and good reproducibility
- Other: Consume small amount of TGIC (Mild-Matte A9:TGIC ≈ 10:1) to obtain better
mechanical properties; slow curing polyester is preferred to reach good matting performance and smooth surface; the curing temperature needs to be guaranteed
Recommended powder coating formula based on Mild‐Matte A9:

- Above formulas were illustrated only for reference. Please do trial first before batch
order - Recommended slow curing polyesters, such as: Allnex CRYLCOAT 2441-2 /2491-2, Anhui Shenjian 4#E, 4#ET, 4#A, Chansieh EL6600, EL6800, DSM P5300/P4900/P4600, Guangzhou Kinte NH-3309/NH-3308/NH3386, Jsbesd YZ9803, KHUA GH2221, Maple FL-2016/FL-2011, Zhengjie ZJ9032 / ZJ9033, Tiansong CE2701/CE2098, etc
- Please adjust the content of pigments and fillers according to the actual situation; organic pigments may speed up the reactivity and lead to increased gloss
- Non-listing polyesters do not imply poor performance
- It is neither recommended to add accelerator to improve impact property, nor recommended to add matt wax to reduce gloss. It may lead to gloss rise and poor leveling
- Avoid accelerators or catalytic pigments/fillers; they typically raise gloss and may impair leveling.
Typical Properties:
- Appearance: White or light yellow powder
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): ≤3%( wt.% ) Thermal Gravimetric Analysis at
200°C/15min. - Softening point, RING AND BALL :100‐125°C
Application:
- Pre‐mix and Co‐extrusion [One‐Shot Method]
Storage:
- 12 months @27°C, Keep Dry,expired products can be used after passing inspection.
Safety and Caution:
- General powder coating safety regulations can be adapted for ZEHM products
- Unless otherwise noted, ZEHM products never contain any heavy metal elements, easy-flammable or explosive materials
- Personal Protective Equipments [PPE] are required to prevent the powder from oral or breath adsorption and skin direct contact
- Any contaminated body parts should be suggested to a rapid wash-away. Serious cases should look for the doctor’s treatment
Note:
Despite the Mild-Matte A9 can make noticeable effects for your formulation, batch powder line trial for the powder user is strongly recommended. ZEHM will not be responsible for the loss caused by not properly using our Product Data Sheet.
