PriMat-A5D Matting agent for HAA powder coatings

PriMat-A5D is a matting agent suitable for β-hydroxyalkyl amide (HAA) powder coatings. The cost of powder coatings prepared using PriMat-A5D is lower than that of GMA acrylic powder coatings.

PriMat-A5D is more eco-friendly.

PriMat-A5D has the following benefits:

• Matting performance: achieve generally a minimum gloss of about 3GU @60° and
  also depending on the coating resin sensitivity;
  
• Powdering process: pre-mix, extrude and ground with other raw materials; no dry
  blending requirement;
  
• Appearance: fine surface, good flowing, and smooth;
  
• Weather resistance: The matting agent itself has good UV resistance and weather
  resistance;
  
• Mechanical properties: Impact strength can pass +50KG*cm, -40KG*cm;
  
• In order to obtain good mechanical properties and matting properties, it is necessary to ensure the curing temperature;

Recommended powder coating formula based on PriMat-A5D:

• Please adjust the color and filler content according to the actual situation;
  
• Recommended polyester: Allnex CRYLCOAT 2618-3, DSM P847 / DSM P865, Guangzhou Kinte NH‐6583, Shen‐jian 5405, KHUA GH3301, Etiansong CE3068, Huangshan Zhengjie ZJ9104, Maple FL‐3017A / FL‐3002, ZHENGJIE ZJ9104, etc.
  
• The lowest baking temperature can be 160 °C /15~20 min with some specific polyester.
  
• Avoid accelerators or catalytic pigments/fillers; they typically raise gloss and may impair leveling

Typical Properties:

• Appearance：White or light yellow powder
  
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) ： ≤3.0% （ wt.% ） Thermal Gravimetric Analysis at 200°C/15min.
  
• Softening point：100-125°C
  

Application:

• Pre-mix and co-extrusion [One-Shot Method]
  

Storage:

• Shelf life: at least 12 months @27°C. keep dry,expired products can be used after passing inspection.
  

Safety and Caution：

• General powder coating safety regulations can be adapted for ZEHM products
  
• Unless otherwise noted, ZEHM products never contain any heavy metal elements,
  easy-flammable or explosive materials
  
• Personal Protective Equipments [PPE] are required to prevent the powder from oral or breath adsorption and skin direct contact
  
• Any contaminated body parts should be suggested to a rapid wash-away. Serious cases should look for the doctor’s treatment

Despite the surprising PriMat-A5D may give for your formula, batch powder Line Trial for the powder user is strongly recommended. ZEHM will not be responsible for the loss caused by not properly using our Product Data Sheet. We also never exclude the possibility of the better performances we have never found for PriMat-A5D.
